The basis for all configurations
AiMESS’ artifact concept is based on the tetronom single bar. It is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) and has two target mounts. Interchangeable targets are attached with magnets to these mounts which allows tactile as well as optical measurements. It is possible to use the single bar “stand-alone” for testing optical 3D-scanners, for example. Moreover, it can be used for setting-up 3D artifacts in a shape of a tetrahedron, octahedron or as a ball bar.
3D-artifact in tetrahedral shape
The tetronom that consists of six tetronom single bars is a three-dimensional, tetrahedral artifact. Due to its three-dimensional construction, 3D measuring instruments and machine tools can be tested very efficiently. In only one setup, the probing deviations as well as the scale and perpendicularity conditions can be checked. Furthermore, it allows for direct comparison of different measuring systems.
3D artifact in octahedral shape
The oktonom consisting of twelve tetronom single bars is a three-dimensional, octahedral artifact. In contrast to the tetronom with its six single bars, the oktonom reveals significantly more information about the Z component because not only one but three balls can be measured in space. In only one setup, the scale and perpendicularity conditions can be checked.
Artifact for large measurement volumes
The tetronom ball bar consists of a supporting body, one or more CFRP tripods and any number of ball bar elements (tetronom single bars). The number of single elements depends on the total length of the tetronom ball bar. To measure all alignments in space, the tetronom ball bar is mounted on a sturdy and height-adjustable tripod.
With calibration certificate
With the flatness standard, you can check errors of indication of flatness in optical measurements with area scanning systems. It is made of the same material as our ceramic balls. In comparison to ceramic made of aluminium oxide (Al2O3), our special ceramic has the advantage that it can be measured directly under different lighting conditions without further pre- and/or after-treatment. Its surface is of a diffusely scattering nature and fulfils all requirements of the VDI/VDE guideline 2634.
For scanners and tactile systems
Ball made of ceramic for measurements with optical area scanning systems on the basis of white light fringe projection or laser scanners, as well as for tactile systems. In comparison to balls made of aluminium oxide ceramic (Al2O3), our special ceramic has the advantage that it can be measured directly under different lighting conditions without further pre- and/or after-treatment. Its surface is of a diffusely scattering nature and fulfils all requirements of the VDI/VDE guideline 2634.
